Their amazing Combo Locos got me a 680g (1.8 lbs) of bacon and a “value pack” pork chops (3.5LBS for only $6.50). I found myself asking, “Why is meat that cheap?” and “Why do I spend some much on my meat?” I spend a lot of money high quality food… which I am fine with. The point is that just because this food from big box store is not my prime choice does not mean that it not good. Maybe the real question is how much extra work will this more conventional food require in the kitchen when I am preparing my ghetto gourmet. [...]

Glad you are learning about CIW. I remember a while back at UT seeing the Taco Bell on Campus have a sign that said that they were out of tomatoes during their one cent campaign.

Can you source this line that you wrote? “This is almost double the amount a worker 30 years ago had to pick to receive minimum wage.”
